Alcove / Horizontal carved grooves with iron details

A small wall alcove for your own icon.

Like the niches that once sheltered icons and keepsakes, this alcove gives a place of honour to the objects that hold a story: a small figurine from your childhood, a carved animal brought back from holiday, a rock shaped like a heart. Handmade in stoneware, carved to create a  texture that invites touch. Finished with an iron wash over a transparent glaze,it was fired in a gas kiln in a reduction atmosphere, bringing out depth and subtle variations in colour. One of a kind.
